PXE boot program without F12 prompt Reference

An .n12 file is a network boot program for Windows Deployment Services. The known file is pxeboot.n12. It starts a PXE network boot directly, without the press-F12 prompt of pxeboot.com. Deployment servers send the file to client computers at boot. The name n12 means no F12.

A file extension is only a part of the file name. It does not give a guarantee about the format or the content of a file. But on Windows, the extension selects the program that opens the file.
